The collection of clothing and textile materials in the VCO is different
ConSer VCO and the VCO Waste Consortium, in collaboration with Humana People to People Italia, have started the separate collection of used clothes, shoes, bags and linens with two new containers. The initiative helps to make waste management services even more efficient and incentivize reuse, benefiting the environment and Humana’s social projects.
GREEN BIN
Here you can confer clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and linens IN GOOD CONDITION. These will be destined for the second-hand supply chain and resold in Humana stores in Italy and Europe, generating economic resources to be allocated to Humana’s international cooperation projects and local socio-environmental initiatives. Green bins are present in all municipalities of the VCO province.
YELLOW BIN
Instead, sheets, blankets, towels, curtains, tablecloths, pillows, fabric toys, and USED AND NON-REUSABLE clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories can be delivered here. These will be destined for the recycling and recovery chain to derive materials and energy in cooperation with specialized companies. The yellow bins are found only in the Collection Centers but are available to citizens in all municipalities.
All waste should be placed clean in tightly closed bags.
If soiled, soaked in oil, wet, moldy or reduced to cuttings they should be disposed of in the dry residual (undifferentiated waste).
Humana People to People Italia is a nonprofit organization that funds international cooperation projects and contributes to environmental protection, in Italy and around the world, through the collection, sorting and sale of used clothing. Only in 2021 The Federation of Humana developed overall 1.238 projects achieving 9,6 million of beneficiaries.
